Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has responded to the backlash that followed his recent purchase of a special 1-of-1 Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron, which is reported to be worth 9 billion naira.

Since the purchase was publicized, there has been a lot of criticism of Burna Boy with many criticizing him for spending lavishly on “useless things” instead of investing or contributing to charity.

He was also criticized by critics for importing the vehicle into the country, saying that Nigeria does not have good roads for such exotic cars.

Burna Boy took shots at his haters in a freestyle when he performed at the Afronation festival in Portugal on Friday night.

I purchase Bugatti, they ask which road I go drive am? “We dey do road like Julius Berger, no be today,” he rapped.

Remember that last year, Burna Boy made news after socialite Sophia Egbueje accused him of failing to keep his promise of buying her a Lamborghini for sex.

Burna Boy did not confirm nor reject her claims but criticized her “shouting” over a Lamborghini in his song ‘No Do’.

Sophia Egbueje later revealed that she bought the Lamborghini herself.

The controversy publicly highlighted the duo’s fragile relationship.
