A Lagos magistrate court has charged TikTok star Habeeb Peller Hamzat with three charges of disobedience to police officials and disturbance of public order.

Peller and one Bello Oladipo appeared in court on Monday over an incident that took place on July 2, 2026, near the Coastal Road, Lekki, Lagos.

The charges read in court are conspiracy to commit a criminal, obstruction of police officers in the performance of their duties and behavior likely to provoke a breach of public peace.

The complaint is based on a viral video that surfaced last week showing Peller in a conflict with police officers.

In the video, the social media celebrity said he had been harassed by the authorities for driving a car without a plate number.

Peller said he had just purchased the car. But authorities on the scene ordered he be taken into custody.

The TikToker also alleged an officer grabbed his shirt and held a gun to his head.

The charge sheet also says that the accused are alleged to have obstructed four police officers in the discharge of their lawful duties.

They are also charged with intimidating the officers and recording them while they were discharging their duty.

The offenders were also accused of acting unlawfully in a manner likely to disturb public order.
