Popular content creator, MC Mbakara, has tendered a public apology to Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, over a viral video of their elevator encounter which drew backlash.

The video, which went viral on social media, showed Mbakara and his wife meeting the veteran actor in an elevator.

Backlash Over Viral Clip

The video showed Jim Iyke in a hurry as he was seen exchanging a brief handshake and greeting before walking off.

However, Mbakara later stated that he was disappointed with the encounter, suggesting that the actor appeared unfriendly during the interaction.

He said:

“What does he need to smile. It is annoying. “Celebs always thinking they are God or something.”

He wrote in a later post:

“I Met Jim Iyke And This Happened. I Love Him Anyway”.

The comments drew different reactions on the web.

MC Mbakara Apologizes
Mbakarar later took to his official Facebook page to withdraw his statement and admitted he was wrong following the backlash.

He wrote:

Never thought this will trend but I am dropping my sincere apologies to Uncle Jim Iyke and everyone about this issue. I was mistaken.”
