Elom Adablah, born on the 28th of June and better known by his stage name E.L, is an award-winning Ghanaian record producer, rapper and sound engineer.

EL was born and bred in Dansoman’s biggest estate. A brilliant Musician, Rapper, Singer, Pioneering producer and a Pulse racing performer. You might recognize him for his hit dance tracks, “Obuu Mo”, “Kaalu”, “One Ghana for Your Pocket” and “Auntie Martha”. Within a short period of one year, his brand “This is Crazy ChalEE” has become a household word in Ghana and his music has made him a face of the Ghanaian music business. His insane club bangers and phenomenal sound have earned him a rapid reputation.

Since the release of his album Something Else on the 1st of June 2012, EL has had multiple worldwide shows and club performances, which are in high demand consistently, not excluding SOLD OUT local engagements.

EL has so far released his second studio album titled Elom and has received decent scores from critics. The album has the singles “Mi Naa Bo Po”, “Watch The Way You Dey Waka” and “Nkrumah Pt. 2” starring highly revered recording artist Obrafour.

The concert was in collaboration with Tidal and was called Ms Lauryn Hill Presents Diaspora Calling! The concert was held on the 15th of April 2016 in the Kings Theater. It was to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from African Diaspora and had great artist from West Africa on stage namely El and Stonebwoy from Ghana and Wondaboy and Mr Eazi from Nigeria performing to a massive crowd.

EL bagged the Artist of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards at the Ghana International Conference Center in the early hours of May 8, 2016.

Early Life and Educational Background

He had his early education at St. Martin De Porres School, Dansoman, then moved to Jack and Jill and finished his Junior Secondary School education.

He later earned entrance into Presbyterian Boys Secondary School where he discovered music.

After finishing secondary school, he enrolled in the University of Ghana, Legon, to study economics and political science.

Musical Career

In his first year of university, EL signed to Skillions Records, owned by Jayso, and co-produced the Skillionaires Demo cassette with Jayso.

However, the Skillions disbanded after graduating from university and EL went solo. He bought a studio in Asylum Down, and started working on a new mix tape.

He even released a track, “Chale (So Fli)”, with Jay Foley, Wolf and Kwaku T (remix). The mixtape was never released though. EL moved to a better studio in Osu and spent all his money on equipment.

His debut double album Something Else published on June 1, 2012 by Akwaaba Music is a fusion of diverse genres of music inspired by numerous sources.

On 20th May 2014, EL released his album “The Best African Rapper” (abbreviated as “The B.A.R”) It featured Ayigbe Edem, Sarkodie, Joey B, C-Real, Gemini, Telvin, Frozen, Lil Shaker, Stargo, P. K. & Dex Kwasi.

EL said he was working on B.A.R 2, dropped the cover art and then released three tracks “All Black”, “State Of The Nation” and “King Without A Crown”.

He followed it up with the B.A.R 2 concert alongside Wanlov, Ko-Jo Cue, DJ Mic Smith and others on 29 August 2015.

EL launched his second studio album called Elom(Everybody loves original music).

The album had singles including “Mi Naa Bo Po,” “Watch The Way You Dey Waka,” and “Nkrumah Pt. 2” with Obrafour.

On April 15, 2016, Lauryn Hill headlined a concert called Ms. Lauryn Hill Presents Diaspora Calling! in association with Tidal at Kings Theater, the concert was intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from African Diaspora and included E.L and Stonebwoy from Ghana, also Wondaboy and Mr. Eazi from Nigeria.

E.L dropped his fifth studio album, BVR (stylised as BAR V), a 15 track album. It had rap tracks including “Nobody”, E.L – The Greatest and “Thinkin’.” E.L features Nigerian musician, Falz and Ghanaian performers Akan and Bryan The Mensah.
