Eugene Kwame Marfo born February 1 1997, Known by his stage name Kuami Eugene is a Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer- tunesmith. He is signed to Lynx Entertainment and is known for several of his songs such as “Angela”, “Wish Me Well”, “Ohemaa” and many more.
He received New Artist prizes at the Vodafone Ghana Music prizes and Ghana Music Awards UK. He also threw in his name for the Utmost Promising Artiste in Africa award from (AFRIMA).
Kuami Eugene was born to Alex and Juliana Marfo in Oda, Ghana. His love of music led him to sing in the church from a very young age where he also learnt to play the trumpet, keyboard and guitar. Kuami Eugene left the academy for his passion of music and spent almost two months studying music in a plant in the Eastern Region without alerting the academy authority and his mother.
Later he was ejected from the academy when they found out that he had skipped the academy. He studied at the Salvation Army Senior High academy at Akim-Wenchi. The young singer grew up in the confines of Fadama, a suburb of Accra and had his education at Ghana Telecom University.
Kwami Eugene participated in the fifth season of the reality competition show MTN Hitmaker in Ghana in 2016 where he came out as the third overall winner. He long after signed with Lynx Entertainment, he has gone on to release several mates.
“Angela” had one million views on YouTube in 2017, the highest by any music artist on that platform and was said to be in the top 10 songs in Ghana. He is one of the featured artists on DJ Vyrusky and Shatta Wale’s “Adwenfi”. of 2018 he published a durability of the plot of the song “ Confusion” called “ Angela”.
In June 2018, he released the single, “Wish Me Well,” a response to unfavorable social media comments he had received, some of which alleged he was stealing lyrics from another singer, Ice Prince.
In 2017, he performed at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Musicale in Ghana on December 25. Ghana Music Honors 2017Edition, December to Remember 2017, Concert 2017, 61st Ghana Independence Festivity Show At Indigo 02 London.
High-life legend Amakye Dede has named Kuami Eugene as his successor in high-life music at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
