Paul Okoye popularly known as Rude Boy is a Nigerian musician, composer, dancer and entertainer. Before going their own ways to pursue their solo careers, he was in a group with his twin brother Peter Okoye nicknamed Mr. P and were famously known as Psquare. EARLY LIFE

Paul Okoye was born on November 18, 1981. He is from Ifite, Dunu region of Anambra State of Nigeria. He attended St. Murrumba high school in Jos, Nigeria, and later studied Business Administration at the University of Abuja. While studying in the university, he got involved with a lady called Anita Isama, a girl he later got wedded to and they both had 3 children mutually.

MUSIC CAREER

Paul Okoye or Rudeboy has done well alongside his twin brother in the music world. They started as an Acapella ensemble, inspired by Michael Jackson’s dancing style which they developed and finally were booked for events throughout Jos, Nigeria.

They owned their first album titled ‘Last Nite’ and this was sponsored by a tobacco-producing firm and this earned them a KORA Awards nomination; they later released an additional album titled ‘Get Squared’ in 2005 under the Squared Records label which features the song‘Busy Body’. This song was a mega-hit in and out of the nation and got a lot of popularity.

Exactly two years later, they launched another spectacular record titled ‘Game Over’ and this was their most immeasurable selling album with around 8 million copies marketed. The album had prominent international American performers like Akon in ‘Chop my Money’, Rick Ross in ‘Onyinye’ and T.I in “Ejeajo’ hits. Paul was married to Anita ( Nee Isama) in 2014 and the couple is blessed with three kids. The children’s names are Andre, Nadia and Nathan.

During his tenure with Squared Records, Paul Okoye aka Rude Boy was a recipient of amazing awards and nominations. These awards include The Headies, City Magazine 9th Awards Show, Nigeria Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, KORA Awards, BET Awards, Ghana Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards and Soul Train Music Awards. However, he has not yet won any honors as a solo performer.
